Flirty Zoosk commercials are meant to attract you to the website to search for potential romantic matches among the other Zoosk users. Unfortunately, commercials are unclear about the fact that Zoosk requires a paid subscription, a fact you may not understand until you've already created your profile. Whether you want to get rid of your Zoosk profile before you're billed or you just want to end a subscription, you'll need to deactivate your account to remove your profile and stop further charges.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Navigate to the Zoosk website and log in with your user name and password, which you received during the registration process.

  2. 2

Click your user name at the top of the page to access your profile menu. Then, click "Settings" and then "Account."

  3. 3

Click "Deactivate your Zoosk Account." You're asked if you really want to cancel your account, with information about your subscription. If you really want to delete your profile, click "Deactivate Zoosk Account" at the bottom of the page.

  4. 4

Click the reason you have for deactivating your account, which Zoosk uses for information and marketing purposes.

  5. 5

Click "Deactivate Zoosk Account" once more to delete your account and be redirected to the login page. Your profile will be deleted from the site and you'll need to begin a new account should you decide to try Zoosk again.

Tips and warnings

  • You're still subject to subscription charges for the entire billing cycle when you deactivate your account. That means if you cancel at the beginning of the cycle, you're still responsible for fees until the end of the cycle before your account is completely deactivated and deleted.
