Dot matrix printers may have been the most popular computer components when they first hit the market, but they're been pushed to the side by competing laser jet and ink jet printers. This doesn't mean the pixel-by-pixel printers aren't still a viable option for printing items such as PDFs, portable document format files. You can send a PDF to a dot matrix printer just as you would any other word processing document, image or spreadsheet, with no differences in the printing process.
