IMVU is an online social networking hub where members can create a three-dimensional avatar on the website or with a personal photograph. IMVU avatars can interact with others in virtual chat rooms, gaming contests and hangout spots. You can also personalise your IMVU profile with a colourful or distinctive layout design from websites that offer customised layouts. To get the layout, all you need to do is access the website and retrieve a code you can copy and paste to your profile.

Instructions

    Access your IMVU account

  1. 1

    Go to IMVU's website.

  2. 2

Log in to your account using your avatar screen name or username and password.

  3. 3

Minimise the Web browser. Click the "-" button, which resembles a dash, in the upper, right corner of the browser.

    Create Your Layout

  1. 1

Go to layout websites, such as Snazzyspace or Profile Brand. These websites provide HTML codes you can copy and paste in to your IMVU profile.

  2. 2

Browse through the layout gallery and choose a design. After you select a layout, most websites will automatically generate an HTML code.

  3. 3

Click directly in the code box and right-click using your mouse. Scroll to "Copy"

  4. 4

Maximise your Web browser by clicking the tab at the bottom of the computer screen. This will bring up your IMVU account.

  5. 5

Click the "Edit" button in the "About Me" section of your profile.

  6. 6

Click "Edit Custom HTML/CSS" and right-click using your mouse.

  7. 7

Scroll to "Paste" and click "Save." The new layout will automatically appear in your profile window and background.
