An AOC external computer monitor serves as the interface to a connected computer tower or PC. A monitor connects to the computer with a supplied cable and receives power via a power cord that plugs into a regular AC outlet. Once installed, the monitor screen can be adjusted to suit your needs. You might have questions about how to hook up and adjust the monitor. With a few easy steps, the installation process can be quick.

Instructions

  1. 1

Place the bottom segment of the stand flat on a level surface and lower the monitor onto the stop of the stand until it clicks into place. Hold the base of the monitor and bend the monitor backward between 5 to 20 degrees so you view the monitor full-on when sitting in front of it.

  2. 2

Insert the power cord firmly into the "AC" terminal on the lower left corner of the AOC back. Insert the pronged end of the power cord into an AC power strip or wall outlet.

  3. 3

Insert the 15-pin D-sub cable into the "Analog" terminal on the lower right corner of the AOC back. Screw the two side screws clockwise until the cable is locked to the terminal. Insert the other end of the cable into the computer's D-sub port and tighten the screws into place.

  4. 4

Insert the optional 24-pin DVI cable into the "DVI" port on the lower right back of the AOC. Screw the two side screws into the terminal until the connection is secure. Screw the other end of the cable into the computer's DVI port.

  5. 5

Push the "Power" button on the lower right side of the front panel to turn on the AOC. The power light will come on in the lower right corner of the front panel.

  6. 6

Push the "Menu" button on the lower right side of the AOC to access the monitor's control panel. Press the up or down button, located on the lower right corner of the front panel, to select an OSD setting, such as "Brightness" or "Contrast." Push the up or down button to adjust the selected OSD setting to your liking. Use the up or down buttons to select the "Exit" option to save the settings and exit the panel. Select and adjust all OSD settings until the monitor is set up to your liking.

  7. 7

Push the "Power" button to turn off the AOC monitor while holding down the "Menu" button to lock the settings. Turn the AOC back on to use it. To make further adjustments, press and hold the "Menu" button while the monitor is off and turn the monitor back on to unlock the settings.
