Vodafone is one of the leading telecommunications companies offering mobile services. It is available in 21 countries, including the United States. Customers who make the switch to Vodafone are often able to transfer their existing mobile phone numbers from previous providers to Vodafone. Keeping you old phone number is often more convenient than switching to a new number.

Contact your cell phone carrier and speak with a customer service representative.

Request a PAC (Porting Authorization Code) from the carrier. It will be a nine-digit code with three letters followed by six numbers.

Sign up for service with Vodafone through its website. Choose a monthly or pay-as-you-go plan. Pay for your plan online and Vodafone will mail you your new Vodafone cell phone and SIM card with a temporary phone number assigned.

Call Vodaphone customer service when you receive your new phone and SIM card in the mail by dialling "191" from your new cell phone.

Give your PAC code to the Vodafone customer service representative and allow them to transfer your old phone number to your new SIM card.
