Seagate Barracuda hard drives come in large sizes such as 500 gigabytes. When one of these Seagate Barracuda hard drives has errors causing sections of the hard drive to work properly, format the drive. This cleans the drive and removes the errors from happening again. You will lose all of your information though, so make sure you back it up to another storage device.

Skill level:
Moderately Easy

  1. 1

Click the "Start" orb, and click "Computer" in the right in the Start Menu.

  2. 2

Right-click the Seagate Barracuda drive, and click "Format."

  3. 3

Click "Format" at the bottom of the screen.
