BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) is an instant messaging application that uses BlackBerry PIN numbers. Most modern BlackBerrys come with BBM already installed; but if yours doesn't, you can install it using your BlackBerry's browser. BBM allows you to send instant messages to other BlackBerry users at no extra charge. The message data is transferred using the BlackBerry data network instead of the carrier's text messaging system.
