Some homeowners have problems with neighbourhood dogs. The dogs enter the yard and cause damage by defecating on the lawn, digging up flowers or burying items. Instructions

  1. 1

Shout and/or chase the dog out of the yard.

  2. 2

Turn the garden hose on the dog. A sudden spray of cold water is a deterrent for most dogs.

  3. 3

Purchase and install an animal repellent kit that includes a motion sensor, noisemaker and a spray of water. The products are motion-activated and emit a sound and a spray of water that startles the dog. Place the motion-activated water sprinkler in the area that the offending dog likes the most. Because people can also trigger these products, it's a good idea not to place them next to walkways or roads.
