How to Get SPC for Verizon Prepaid Phones

Written by Mandy Slake

An SPC is a service programming code required to unlock a phone for programming. On Verizon Wireless postpaid accounts, all of the phones have the same SPC of "000000." On prepaid accounts, however, things get a little more complicated. Each prepaid phone has its own individual SPC, since Verizon Wireless doesn't want customers buying a discounted phone and taking it to another carrier without signing up for Verizon Wireless service first. To get the SPC for a Verizon prepaid phone, you just have to ask for it.

Moderately Easy

Instructions

  1. 1

Call Verizon Wireless by dialing 611 on your phone or 800-922-0204 from another line.

  2. 2

Select the menu option to speak with the prepaid department.

  3. 3

Advise the prepaid representative that you need help with programming your phone manually. The prepaid agent will walk you through manual programming; the exact process varies depending on the handset. As part of the manual programming process, the agent will give you a six-digit number to type into the phone. This number is the SPC.
