When you purchase "The Sims 3" PC game or some of the additional content, you're sometimes awarded free SimPoints. These points, usually purchased with real money, act as the in-game currency. With SimPoints, you can purchase additional in-game items, like clothes, furniture, hairstyles and other exclusive content. To redeem free SimPoints acquired through purchasing the game or an extension, you need to create an official "Sims 3" account and register your copy of the game.

Open your Web browser and type "store.thesims3.com" into the address bar, hitting "Enter" when finished. Click "Create an Account" near the top-left side of the screen, next to the bottom of the game's logo.
Click "My Account," then the orange "Redeem Free Sims Points" button. Click "OK" in the pop-up window asking if you'd like to apply your SimPoints to your account.
No "Sims 3" Account
Open your Web browser and go to "store.thesims3.com." Click "Login" near the top-left corner of the window and enter your e-mail address and password in the appropriate boxes before hitting the blue "Log In" button.
Hover your mouse over "My Page" on the navigation bar near the top of the window and select "My Account." Choose "Register a Game" and enter the serial code that came with your game. Click "Register" and go "MyPage."
Click the orange "Redeem your SimPoints" link underneath your profile's avatar. Press "OK" to confirm that you want to add the free SimPoints to your account.
