How to Find Out What Network a Mobile Number Is On

Finding out the network for a mobile phone number is important for a variety of reasons. If you plan to send a text message from your e-mail, you need to know which network the recipient is on to determine his mobile e-mail address. Locating the mobile network is also a good idea if you are receiving harassing phone calls. Online search tools such as Fone Finder and Cell Revealer offer a free way to find the network of most mobile numbers.

Access the Fone Finder website in a Web browser.

Enter the mobile phone number in the indicated field and click "Search by Number."

Review the results for the number. The network for the mobile number is in the "Telephone Company Web Link" column.

Access the Telephone Number Identification website in a Web browser.

Enter the 10-digit mobile number in the indicated field and click "Search."

Review the search results for the number. The network is listed under "Current Telephone Company."

Access the Cell Revealer website in a Web browser.

Enter the 10-digit mobile field indicated and click "Reveal."

Review the results for the number. The network is listed in the "Carrier" field.
