How to install Java on an iPad

Updated February 21, 2017

One limitation of the iPad device is that it cannot access Java content on websites. Java is a computer language developed by Sun Microsystems that some websites use to offer interactive website components. While you cannot directly install Java on your iPad, you can download and install an alternative Web browser that will allow you to view Java content on your iPad device.

Tap the "App Store" icon on the home screen of your iPad.

Tap the "Search" button.

Enter "Cloud Browse" in the search bar and tap the "Search" button.

Select the "Cloud Browse" application.

Tap the "£1.99" button. Cloud Browse is a paid application and £1.99 is the current cost of the application.

Tap the "Buy Now" button.

Tap the new "Cloud Browse" icon on the home screen of your iPad device.

Enter the website that contains Java in the search bar and tap the "Go" button. The website including any Java components will automatically open on your iPad device.
