Visual Basic 6 is a programming language and integrated development environment develop by Microsoft. The language is simple to learn and contains a number of reusable controls that help programmers develop their applications rapidly. One such control is the VB6 MonthView control. The MonthView control enables users to view and set date information using a calendar interface from their VB6 programs.

Open Visual Basic 6.
Select "Standard EXE" from the new project list. You should have a default main form on your screen to start adding your controls.
Click "Project" and then click "Components."
Scroll down the list of components and look for the "Microsoft MonthView Control."
Place a check in the box next to it and click "OK." This will place the MonthView Control onto your ToolBox control.
Select the MonthView control from the ToolBox and drag it to your main form to start using it.
Press "F5" on your keyboard to run your program. You should see a calendar on your main form; you should be able to interact with it by selecting different days, months and years.
