Sony manufactures the PlayStation 3 gaming console. As a PS3 owner you have the ability to access Sony's PSN (PlayStation Network) to download movies, videos and games directly to your PS3 console. To accomplish this you must create a PSN user ID and password. If your PS3 breaks, you won't be able to access any of the content your have purchased and downloaded to your console. In this case you need to deactivate your PS3 to be able to download the content you purchased on to another PS3.
