VLC is a multimedia player capable of playing video and audio files in almost any format. The application features a simple playlist manager that can be used to queue up tracks and videos for continuous play. The playlist is hidden from view by default, but enabling its display takes only two mouse clicks. Once displayed, editing items in the playlist is a straightforward task.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Click "Start," type "VLC" into the search box located at the bottom of the menu, then press "Enter."

  2. 2

    Click "View" and select "Playlist."

  3. 3

Right-click the playlist and select "Add File" to add a single file to the playlist or "Add Directory" to add an entire folder of multimedia files to the playlist.

  4. 4

Drag items up or down to change the playback order of the playlist.

  5. 5

Double-click an item to begin playback of the file. Once play is complete, VLC will advance to the next item in the playlist until all items have been played.
