How to do a flyer & post it on Facebook

From promoting a band gig to advertising a charity fundraiser, a flyer can be used as a powerful tool to promote your upcoming event. If you're unfamiliar with creating a flyer, you can use Microsoft Word to design one in a few easy steps. After creating the flyer, use to post it on your Facebook profile and promote your event online. is a joint collaboration between Microsoft and Facebook that allows you to upload and post your Microsoft documents to your Facebook profile free of charge.

Go to "Start," click "All Programs" and open Microsoft Word. When you open Word, a blank document will appear on the screen.

Click the "Insert" tab, and then click the "Text Box" button on the toolbar. Scroll through the templates menu and choose your favourite text box. After you select a template, it will be inserted in your document. Click inside the box and enter the information you want to display on your flyer. Depending on your preference, you can add more than one text box template to your flyer or you can type directly in the document.

Add an image to your flyer by using the "Picture" or "Clip Art" buttons. The "Picture" button allows you to use a digital image saved on your computer. After inserting a personal photo or clip art image, position and resize it on your flyer. To move the image, click and drag it to your preferred location. If you want to increase or decrease the image, click and drag the corners and edges of the photo.

Click the "Page Layout" tab. Use the "Page Color" button to add a background colour to your flyer. Depending on your preference, you can also a texture or pattern to the background. To add a border to your flyer, use the "Page Borders" button and select one of the edge designs.

Experiment with the layout of your flyer, including your text and images, until you're satisfied will the overall design. When you're finished creating your flyer, click the "File" tab and select the "Save As" option. Enter a filename for your flyer, select a folder and click "Save."

Go to the Microsoft Docs website and click the "Facebook Sign In" button in the upper-right corner of the page. The "Facebook Login" window will appear.

Enter the email address and password you use for your Facebook account and click the "Log In" button.

Click the "Upload here" link on the right side of the page.

Open the folder that contains your flyer. Click and drag the file to the "Choose a Doc" screen.

Determine who you want to share your flyer with on your Facebook profile. You can share it will all of your friends, specific friends or everyone.

Click the "Upload" button.
