Instructions

  1. 1

Flatten out the cereal box. Cut one of the side edges of the cereal box vertically with scissors.

Navigate to the pencil case template site (see Resources). Print the template.

  2. 2

Place the template over the flattened cereal box. Tape the edges of the template paper to the edges of the cereal box.

  3. 3

Cut the outline of the template using a utility knife. Place cardboard or a protective surface under the cereal box to prevent damage to the cutting surface.

  4. 4

Place the template where the longer rounded side faces left. The smaller side faces right. Fold the dotted lines on the right side toward the left. Fold the dotted lines on the top of the template toward the bottom. Fold the dotted lines on the bottom of the template toward the top. Remove the template paper.

  5. 5

Wrap the right side of the cardboard around the left side of the cardboard. Tape the lip of the right side to the bottom of the left side of the template. This makes the sides of the rectangular prism base of the pencil case.

  6. 6

Fold the bottom lip into the bottom of the rectangular prism base. That makes the bottom of the pencil case.

  7. 7

Fold the top lip over into the top of the rectangular prism base. That makes the top of the pencil case. Your rectangular prism pencil case is ready to use. Pull out the top lip from the top of the pencil case to insert pencils.
