Leatherette is an artificial leather fabric that has the feel of vinyl or plastic. This type of fabric is typically used for furniture and automobile seats, and requires little maintenance. To keep the leatherette clean you should use cleaning products that leave no film behind on the smooth textured fabric, and make sure the cleaner you use is not damaging to the leatherette.
