Charlie's Angels was a popular television show in the 1970s and featured three glamorous women detectives, originally played by Farrah Fawcett, Jaclyn Smith and Kate Jackson. Each member of the group had her own style, with Farrah often in sharp suits, Jaclyn in softer, more feminine clothes, and Kate adopting a sportier look. Decide which Charlie's Angel you want to be, then scour thrift stores for 1970s style clothing to adapt for an authentic costume. Ideally assemble a group of three friends to dress as the three Angels.
Decide which Charlie's Angel you want to be. Search closets and thrift stores for suitable items of clothing. Look for flared trousers, tight button-up shirts with large collars, tight vests and jumpsuits. Platform boots or shoes are ideal footwear.
Farrah Fawcett played the athletic character Jill Munroe. Create her look with high-waisted, tight, flared trousers and a button-up shirt and jacket with large collars. Choose items that are white or light-coloured. Alternatively, dress in a white tennis outfit.
Jaclyn Smith played streetwise Kelly Garrett. Create her understated and more feminine look with a long, flowing dress. Chiffon fabric and an off-the-shoulder style is ideal. Alternatively, wear a white bikini or glamorous swimsuit and high platform heels.
Kate Jackson's character, Sabrina Duncan, was known as "the smart one." Wear flared trousers, a button-up shirt with a large collar and a tight button-up vest to recreate her look. Alternatively a turtleneck and pantsuit would work well.
All the women in this show were made up to create a very glamorous look. Apply full make-up including eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, lipstick and lip gloss.
Farrah Fawcett's hair in particular became an iconic 1970s hairstyle. Long, blond hair should be styled back in heavy flicks at each side. Jaclyn's hair was long, brown and also flicked back, but with larger, softer curls. Kate's hair was shorter and also brown, with smaller flicks at the sides of her fringe. If you do not have hair you can style in this way, consider buying a suitable wig.
Once your costume is complete, practice posing as if holding a gun, using your hands to create a pretend gun with your forefingers and thumbs raised. Adopt plenty of attitude and if dressing as part of a group costume, practice posing as a group.
