Updated April 17, 2017

CorelDraw is one of the major vector graphics applications on the market. It is often used to create ads, signs and content for the web. CorelDraw has a number of tools for creating these graphics, but perhaps the most powerful is the Pen tool. If you want to create intricate interwoven designs, the kind you see in Celtic knots, you cans use the Pen tool for this purpose.

Start CorelDraw. Select "File" from the menu and choose "New." In the dialogue, enter the width and height you want for the document, as well as the resolution. Click "OK."

Go to the toolbar and select the "Pen" tool. Go to the "Stroke" panel and choose the colour and thickness you want for the lines of your knot.

Go to the canvas and click to place a point that forms one strand of your Celtic knot. Click to place another point and drag with the mouse as you do, to adjust the line between. Continue this process, weaving the line in and out to from the line pattern.

Click "Enter" to close the line. Select "File" from the menu and choose "Save." In the dialogue that appears, name the file and click "Save."
