Emoticons, such as smileys and frowning faces, are commonly used in Facebook chat. Sometimes, though, the best emoticons to use are the more novel ones. The Facebook shark emoticon shows a frontal view of a shark's head with its jaws wide open. Like the robot, penguin and Pacman emoticons, the shark does not necessarily represent a particular mood or feeling. You can use it any way you find appropriate in chat.
