How to Copy a Shape in OmniGraffle From Illustrator

OmniGraffle is an application for creating diagrams. To an extent, it can be used to create vector shapes, but the tools are very limited. If you want to use impressive vector shapes with OmniGraffle, you can supplement it by importing those shapes from Adobe Illustrator. The process for doing this is simple and quick and gives you the best of both worlds.

    Start Illustrator. Select "File" from the menu and choose "Open." In the dialogue that appears, locate and open a file with a shape you want to send to OmniGraffle.

    Select "File" from the menu and choose "Save As." In the dialogue, name the file, make the saved location the desktop and choose "PDF" as the file type. Click "Save."

    Start OmniGraffle. Open a document in OmniGraffle that you want to add the Illustrator shape to.

    Drag the PDF document you created from the desktop directly onto the OmniGraffle canvas. Save your work.
