How to Embed an Animated GIF in Email

An animated GIF is a series of images put together to mimic a video. Usually, most people send animated GIF files as an e-mail attachment. However, users may also embed an animated GIF into the email's body. When an animated GIF is inserted like this into an e-mail, it begins playing once the recipient of the email opens it.

Open your e-mail client.

Select a "New" message.

Type in an e-mail address in the "To" section. Type in a subject and text in the body if you want.

Click "Insert Image." Select the animated GIF file on your computer. The file starts loading into the email Click "OK" when the image has loaded. The animated GIF is embedded in the email.
