Installing security cameras in your home or office is a safety precaution that may come in handy if you are ever robbed. However, most people do not have this type of security equipment because they think it's too expensive. Currently there are inexpensive wireless IP cameras that connect to the Internet, meaning you can watch video feed from these hidden security cameras from any PC in any location. This way, if you experience a break-in, you will have physical proof of the assailant who entered your home or office.

Connect the wireless IP camera to the wireless router using an Ethernet cable. Connect one end of the cable to an available Ethernet port on the router and the other end to the camera. This is for set-up purposes only.
Place the CD that came with the wireless IP camera in the DVD/CD device of the computer. Wait for the installation wizard to start and click through the prompts, following the on-screen instructions and check the "DHCP" settings when prompted so the program will assign an IP address to the camera.
Write down the IP address that is assigned to the camera. Continue to follow the installation wizard prompts and create a user name and password if prompted to do so.
Disconnect the Ethernet cable from the camera and the router. Place the camera where you want it and connect it to a nearby power outlet.
Open a web browser on any computer and enter the IP address you wrote down in the address bar. This is the area where you type in the website you want to visit. Press the "Enter" key and type in your user name and password. Watch the video feed of your camera.
