Sony's Walkman NWZ-S738F plays your music, podcasts and video files as well as stores pictures for full-screen display or display in a slideshow. The NWZ-S738F model holds up to 4 gigabytes of data transferred from your computer using the USB cable included with the Walkman at purchase. With the computer and the Walkman powered up and the connection made, you can transfer your favourite entertainment files and take them with you on the go.

Tips and warnings

  • Do not connect the Walkman to the computer through a USB hub. Connect the USB cable from the Walkman to a USB port directly on your computer's tower.
  • Upgrade Windows Media Player 10 to Windows Media Player 11 or later to remove file limitations that may be present under Windows Media Player 10. Some WMA files may play only if transferred through Windows Media Player.
  • The "Music," "MP_Root," "Video," "Picture," "Pictures" and "Podcasts" folders cannot be renamed or deleted.
  • First level files will not be recognised in the "Podcasts" folder. Only files will be recognised on the second level.
  • Depending on your Sync settings, Windows Media Player may automatically start the sync operation when the Walkman is plugged in to the computer.
  • Media Manager for Walkman is not included on the installation CD that comes with the Walkman NWZ-S738F in the U.S.A. package. Download the Media Manager from Sony to transfer files, subscribe to RSS feeds and transfer RSS downloaded files to your Walkman.
  • File and folder names directly under the "MP_Root" folder and the "MPE_Root" folder will not be displayed on the Walkman if renamed.
  • "Do not disconnect" appears on the Walkman's screen while data is transferring between your computer and the Walkman. Do not unplug the USB cable while this message is displayed.
