Salt dough; a simple mix of salt, flour and water; can be moulded and sculpted into several shapes for craft projects. The dough can be coloured with food colouring or painted after it has hardened and dried. To join pieces of salt dough, you need to glue the joined edges to make them stick. The process for gluing the salt dough is different for wet and dry pieces.
Fill a cup with lukewarm water.
Dip a paintbrush into the warm water and brush it over the edges of the salt dough that you want to join.
Press the salt dough edges together and smooth the dough around the join to hide the seam. Bake and dry the dough creation as usual.
Dip a paintbrush into white glue.
Brush the glue over the edges of the dried salt dough.
Press the glued dough edges to each other and hold them in place for about 30 seconds to let the glue take hold.
Brush more glue over the join to smooth the seam. Allow the glue to dry for about 2 hours and decorate your salt dough creation as usual.
