When you open the Bell 9241 PVR's "Multimedia" menu option, you see another option called "External Hard Drive." Within the "External Hard Drive" menu, there is an option to "Archive Recordings" stored on the PVR's internal hard drive to an external hard drive. This option only applies to standalone external hard drives however; it does not apply to the internal hard drive in a PC. If you want to transfer a video stored on a 9241 PVR to a PC, instead of transferring the video file from the PVR to the PC, you must dub the video into the PC using video capture software.

Things you need
- Video capture card
- Set of AV cables
Load the installation disc that came with the video capture card into the PC's CD drive. An installation wizard should automatically load. Follow the on-screen prompts to install the video capture card's drivers onto the PC. (This step only has to be done one time on this PC.)
Plug the video capture card's USB plug into one of the PC's unused USB ports. Sometimes, the video capture card's USB cable comes attached to the device. Other times, the USB cable is separate from the device. If the latter applies to the type of video capture card you are using, plug the other end of the USB cable into the video capture card's USB port.
Insert one end of the red AV cable into the red AV jack, labelled "Audio R," on the back of the PVR. Insert one end of the white AV cable into the PVR's white AV jack, labelled "Audio L." Insert one end of the PVR's yellow AV cable into the yellow AV jack, labelled "Video."
Connect the other end of each AV cable into the corresponding AV input jacks on the video capture card.
Turn on the PC and Bell PVR.
