Connect a DVD player to your Samsung TV to output the player's display in high definition using either an HDMI cable or a component cable. Making this connection lets you watch your favourite movies, television programs or any other content you have stored on discs that your DVD player supports. Use an HDMI cable to get the best quality signal from your DVD player to the Samsung TV screen.

Instructions

  1. 1

Locate the HDMI input on the back of the Samsung TV. If you do not have an HDMI port, locate the Component ports.

  2. 2

Insert one end of the HDMI cable into the "HDMI IN" port. Alternatively, insert the connectors on one of the component cable into the "Component IN" ports that match the colours of the connectors.

  3. 3

Plug the other end of the HDMI cable into the "HDMI OUT" port on your DVD player. Alternatively, insert the connectors on the other end of the component cable into the "Component OUT" ports that match the colours of the connectors.

  4. 4

Turn on your TV and press the "Input" button until the picture from the DVD appears on the TV or until you arrive at the corresponding input your DVD player is connected to.
