How to Get Netflix Streaming on Samsung TVs

Updated April 17, 2017

Although Netflix began as a mail-order video rental service, the service has migrated to several other formats that offer streaming television and movies directly to your home television set. With an active Netflix account and an Internet connection, you can download the appropriate software for the device and set up your Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 or Roku box. When the device is connected properly, you can watch anything from Netflix's instant viewing library on your Samsung television.

Press the Source or Input button on your Samsung remote to select the correct input for your Xbox 360. Sign in to an active Xbox LIVE gamertag on your Xbox 360, and connect to the Internet.

Select the "Video Marketplace" tab, and highlight the red Netflix box. Press "A."

Select the "Confirm Download" option to install the Netflix software to your console.

Return to the Netflix button, and press "A" once again.

Select "Yes, I am" when asked if you are a current Netflix subscriber. Write down the seven-digit activation code that appears on the screen.

Visit the Netflix device activation web site (netflix.com/activate) on your computer. Enter the code you just wrote down, and click "Activate." The console is now connected with your Netflix account.

Return to the Netflix button on the Xbox 360. Browse the library of available movies, or search for a title with the appropriate tab. Press "A" to select "Play" and begin watching a video.

Press the Source or Input button on your Samsung remote to select the correct input for your PlayStation 3. Turn on the console, and make sure your PlayStation 3 is properly connected to the Internet. Sign in to your PlayStation Network account.

Scroll through the XMB (Xross Media Bar) until you locate the PlayStation Network tab. Select "What's New" and press "X."

Select the Netflix icon and press "X." The network will download and install the Netflix application to your console.

Select the Netflix app when the installation has completed. Confirm that you have a Netflix account to receive a device activation code.

Visit the Netflix device activation web site (netflix.com/activate) on your computer. Enter the code you received from the Netflix app on your PlayStation 3. The console is now connected with your Netflix account.

Select the Netflix app, and browse the available movies and television shows. Press "X" to select "Play" and begin watching your video.

Press the Source or Input button on your Samsung remote to select the correct input for your Roku box. Activate your Roku box, and make sure it is connected directly to your local Internet connection.

Select the Netflix channel with your Roku remote.

Copy the device activation code that the screen displays in the Netflix app.

Log in to your Netflix account on your computer, and visit the Netflix device activation page (netflix.com/activate). Enter your activation code.

Visit the Netflix channel on your Roku box. Browse the streaming library, and select a movie or television series with your Roku remote.

Other devices can connect to the Netflix service as well. Check the list of Netflix Ready Devices at the Netflix web site (netflix.com/NetflixReadyDevices).
