Adobe Dreamweaver is a powerful and flexible tool for the creation of websites. In some cases, the data or information presented on a page is best displayed as a spreadsheet, chart or graph. In other cases, the data must be taken directly from a large Excel document to ensure accurate portrayal. Whatever the case may be, it is possible to import an Excel document directly into Dreamweaver on the Windows operating system.

Skill level:
Moderately Easy

  1. 1

Save your Excel spreadsheet as an Excel document.

  2. 2

Open Dreamweaver, then click "File" and "Open." Navigate to the website page you want to add the Excel document to, then click "Open."

  3. 3

Click the "Design View" icon in the top left of the window, then click to place the cursor at the location you want to import the document.

  4. 4

Click "File," "Import" and "Excel Document." The Excel sheet will be placed on your page at the cursor location.

Tips and warnings

  • Microsoft Office documents are only directly importable in Dreamweaver for Windows. Mac users may use a workaround such as saving the Excel document as a website or a PDF document and placing it in the page.
