Ajax is an in-browser instant messaging system that uses a near real-time chat system. It can be used as a standalone messaging system or with your existing commercial and community software. You should know some HTML and PHP coding to install and use this product since the installation is for somewhat advanced users. It's inserted to one's webpage, where many users can log in and chat. It's completely configurable and can also be used in other languages.

Download the latest version of "Ajax IM" (see Resources.) It's a small file of 78 kilobytes, so it should take only a minute or less to download on a fast connection. Your download will tell you when it's complete. Once finished, extract the file into a new folder on your computer, and then upload to your own Web server. Name the file "ajaxim" for easy access.
Change all permissions for "config.php," js/im.js and "standalone node" servers to "755" to allow for installation by using the following code:

IM Load script:
Open your browser, and go to your Web server where the uploaded "install.php" is located. The installer will guide you through the configuration and installation.
Delete the "Install.php" file after the installation has completed.
