Your Acer netbook has an integrated webcam used for recording videos or communicating with others, and you can also take pictures with your webcam. This is particularly useful if you just need to take a quick picture that you want stored on your computer and in cases where a digital camera or other device is not readily available. You can take a picture from within the webcam's interface.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Click "Start." Type "Acer Webcam" in the "Search" field and press the "Enter" key. This opens the webcam's interface on your screen.

  2. 2

Locate the "Camera" button at the bottom of the Acer webcam interface. Pressing this button will take a picture. A thumbnail of your picture will appear below the "Camera" button.

  3. 3

Double-click the thumbnail to preview your picture. If you do not want to save the picture, click the "Trash Can" button to delete. If you would like to keep the picture, it is automatically stored in your "My Pictures" folder.

  4. 4

Click "Start," and click "Pictures." This opens the "My Pictures" folder on your screen, which contains the picture you took with your webcam.
