Consumer electronics manufacturer Vizio produces two standalone sound bars, including the VSB200 Universal HD sound bar and the VSB205 32" Home Theater sound bar. Both sound bars can be purchased individually or as part of a larger home-theatre set like the VSB205WS and VSB210WS. The troubleshooting steps required to fix a Visio sound bar are the same regardless of which type of sub bar you have and whether or not it's part of a set. These steps cover common problems, such as a lack of power, a lack of sound and incessant buzzing or humming.

Check whether the power outlet is working correctly by plugging another electrical device into it.

  2. 2

Make certain the AC power cord is securely plugged into the wall and that it's securely connected to the AC/DC adaptor. If it's connected correctly, the power LED on the adaptor should be glowing green.

  3. 3

Ensure that the AC/DC adaptor is securely connected to the power port on the sound bar. If the outlet is working and everything is connected correctly and the sound bar still won't power up, then call Vizio's customer service line at 1-877-MYVIZIO.

    No Audio

Press the Volume Up key on the remote control or on top of the Sound Bar to increase the volume.

    Buzzing/Humming Sounds

  1. 1

Ensure that both ends of the audio cable are securely connected.

  2. 2

Connect an alternative device such as a Blu-ray player or MP3 player to see whether the buzzing continues.

  3. 3

Try using a different audio cable and input port. If the buzzing still persists, then call Vizio's customer service line at 1-877-MYVIZIO.
