How to hide an element in prezi

Updated July 20, 2017

Prezi is a zooming presentation tool that can be used for creating online presentations. Instead of a static slide presentation, such as that offered by PowerPoint, Prezi provides a much more flexible presentation format. You can zoom in to see minute detail or zoom out to see the larger picture. You can guide the viewers through your Prezi presentation by creating a path for them to follow, or the user can get off the beaten path with a quick and simple move of the mouse.

Use your mouse to select the element that you want to hide. When the Prezi element wheel (zebra) appears, select the "Pan Hand" in the centre of the wheel.

Drag the element far away from the path to a different location on the Prezi sheet. You may need to zoom out before you move the element.

View the Prezi. If the element is still visible, repeat the steps until the element is no longer seen when viewing the Prezi.

Select the element that you wish to hide. When the Prezi element wheel appears, select the "-" (minus) button. Continue clicking the "-" button until the element is the size you want.

Move the element to where it can be hidden. The element will need to be extremely small to be hidden when viewing the Prezi.

View the Prezi. If the element is still visible, repeat the steps until the element is no longer seen when viewing the Prezi.

Select the element that you wish to hide. When the Prezi element wheel appears, select the "Pan Hand" in the middle of the Prezi wheel.

Drag the element so that it is in front of another element. Make sure that the element that will be hidden is smaller than the element that will remain visible. If the element is deselected, reselect it.

Right-click the Prezi element wheel, and select the "Send to Back" or "Send Backward" option from the drop-down menu.

View the Prezi. If the element is still visible, repeat the steps until the element is no longer seen when viewing the Prezi.

Tip

If you no longer need or want the element in your Prezi, you can delete it. To do this, select the element, and then hit the "Delete" button on your keyboard. If it has been a while since you last used Prezi, you will notice that the Prezi wheel (zebra) has changed. Instead of dragging the centre ring to scale, you now select either the "+" or "-" button. You still select the centre of the ring to move; however, there is now a "Pan Hand" in the centre of the wheel.

Warning

If you scale an element too much it can lose some of its quality. For instance, an image or photograph could become pixelated if you scale it down and then later scale it back up. If you delete the element from the Prezi, you will need to upload it again if you wish to use it later.

Things You'll Need

  • Prezi account
  • Multiple Prezi elements
  • Prezi path
