Pulse energy is calculated using information about the laser pulse's width, average power, repetition rate, duration, capacitance, peak voltage, wavelength and more. Different pulses require different methods for calculating pulse energy -- for instance, exponentially decaying pulse, capacitive charge/discharge pulse and square wave pulse are all unique. There are pulse energy calculators available online to help with the various calculation methods.
