The Dell XPS M1210 is a mid-range laptop computer that comes with various features, such as wireless Internet and Bluetooth capacity. It also comes with a SIM card slot in the battery compartment. You primary use a SIM, or Subscriber Identity Module, card in cell phones. It stores all of your billing information and allows the phone to operate. Turn off your Dell XPS M1210 and unplug the power cable.
Close the display screen and turn the computer upside down. Note the rectangular battery at the edge of the underside of the computer.
Slide the battery release latch to the side and simultaneously remove the battery from the compartment. The rectangular SIM compartment will now be visible in the compartment.
Insert the SIM card so that the metal connectors slide under the metal tabs on the side of the SIM compartment.
Replace the battery and turn the computer right-side up. Turn on the computer.
Click on the "Mobile Broadband" option in the programs list to open the mobile broadband software. This will allow you to use your SIM card to access the Internet.
