How to boot a gparted CD on a mac

GParted is free, open-source disk-management software available for many different platforms. GParted is also packaged as a bootable Live CD based on the GNU/Linux operating system. GParted can read and modify different filesystems, including Linux-based EXT, Windows NTFS and Macintosh HFS+. For example, GParted can create, delete and resize many different filesystem types. You can boot a GParted disc on a Mac to repartition the Mac's internal hard drive or any external drive connected to the computer.

    Hardware Method

  1. 1

    Insert the GParted Live CD into the disc drive.

  2. 2

    Restart the computer.

  3. 3

    Press and hold the "C" key until the Mac boots from the disc.

    Software Method

  1. 1

    Insert the GParted Live CD into the disc drive.

  2. 2

    Click the "System Preferences" icon in the dock.

  3. 3

    Click "Startup Disk."

  4. 4

    Click the GParted Live CD, then click "Restart."
