Make your own hand-to-finger bracelet, also known as a slave bracelet, to get a custom fit for your hand. Slave bracelets have a length of chain that extends from the top of the bracelet to the finger as a ring or just a loop around the finger. Some slave bracelets that you can buy from the store turn out to be too loose because they need to be made to accommodate someone with large hands. Find the supplies and tools you need at the craft store.

Instructions

  1. 1

Measure the circumference of your wrist and use wire cutters to cut a piece of one-eighth-inch thick chain to this length, minus one-half-inch to accommodate the clasps. Loop the tape measure around your middle finger and measure from your wrist, across the top of your hand, around your middle finger and back down to your wrist. Cut another piece of chain to this length.

  2. 2

Grip the two open ends of a jump ring with pliers and gently bend the two ends away from each other sideways to open the jump ring. Slip the open jump ring on to the loop at the bottom end of a lobster clasp and through the last link of the chain that will go around your wrist. Close the jump ring by pushing the ends back together. Repeat this step on the other end of the wrist chain with the other side of the clasp.

  3. 3

Lay the wrist chain out in front of you on a table and find the link in the very middle of the chain. Place a pen on the table pointing at the link so you don't lose it.

  4. 4

Fold the other length of chain in half, the one that will go from your finger to your wrist, with the two links at the ends aligned. Open another jump ring with the help of your pliers and feed the open end of the jump ring through the end link on both ends of the folded chain. Slip the jump ring through the middle link on the wrist chain and close it.

  5. 5

Put on the bracelet by putting the folded middle of the finger chain around your middle finger. Gently stretch the finger chain across the top of your hand and place the wrist chain on your wrist. Connect the clasps to secure the hand-to-finger bracelet.
