VisualBoyAdvance is a freeware program for Windows, Linux and Mac-based computer systems that allows you to play Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance games on your computer. VisualBoyAdvance includes a variety of features to enhance game play, including advanced save game management, frame skipping, game play recording and playback, and cheat device emulation that includes GameShark and Pro Action Replay cheat devices. GameShark codes allow you to modify various aspects of game play by temporarily editing the game's programming code.     Launch VisualBoyAdvance and load "Pokemon Fire Red." Click the "Cheats" button in the VisualBoyAdvance menu bar and click the "Cheat list..." option from the drop-down menu.

    Click the "Gameshark..." button in the cheat list window. Type "Master Code" in the "Description" entry field of the "Add GamesharkAdvance code" window, then click the "Code" entry field and type the master codes for your "Pokemon Fire Red" game version. Press the "Enter" key to start a new code line when you have finished a code line. Your "Pokemon Fire Red" game version number should be in the file name of the "Pokemon Fire Red" game file. Click the "OK" button when you have entered all master codes in the "Code" entry field.

    Add additional GameShark codes as desired. Click the checked box next to a code to disable a code and click an empty box next to a code to enable the code. Click a code and click the "Remove" button to remove the selected code, or click the "Remove All" button to remove all codes. Click the "OK" button when you are satisfied with the entered and enabled codes.

    Click the "Cheats" button in the VisualBoyAdvance menu bar and click the "Save cheat list..." option from the drop-down menu. Click the "Save" button in the "Select cheat list name" window and VisualBoyAdvance will save the cheat list. Click the "Load cheat list" option from the "Cheats" drop-down menu and double-click the saved cheat list file to reload the cheat list if you close VisualBoyAdvance and want to use your cheats again.
