A screen saver is a moving graphic design or picture that appears on a computer monitor when the computer has been dormant for a given length of time. Windows 7 comes installed with a variety of screen saver choices, including a selection that allows you to turn your personal photos into a screen saver slide show. If you want to manipulate the speed by which the photos in your slide show pass, you can adjust the "Photo Screen Saver Settings."

Open the Start menu. Type "screen saver" in the "Search" box.
Click "Change screen saver" in the search results. The "Screen Saver Settings" dialogue box will open. "Photos" should already be selected in the "Screen saver" drop-down menu.
Click the "Settings" button located next to the "Screen Saver" drop-down menu. The "Photo Screen Saver Settings" dialogue box will open.
Open the "Slide Show Speed" drop-down menu. Select "Fast." Click "Save."
Click "Apply." Click "OK."
