How to make a headband stay in place

Headbands are a hair accessory that can add a pop of colour and youthfulness to an outfit. You can find headbands in a soft elastic style or hard headbands that are usually made of plastic. These can be covered in fabric to make them slightly softer and more comfortable. You can find headbands that are adorned with jewels or flowers and even with ears or antennas! One of the problems that can arise when wearing headbands is that they slide out of place. With a few simple tricks, you can keep any headband from slipping and keep it in place as long as you want.

Use hair clips to hold softer headbands in place. The hair clip can slide into your hair and over the headband to keep it secure.

Attach a small hair comb to the sides of the headband on the underside of the band. The combs work nicely for a hard headband. Use jeweller's glue or craft glue to attach the combs before you need to wear the headband, and it should stay in place perfectly.

Add a little gel or firm-hold hairspray to your hair at the spot where the headband will sit on your head. This technique helps hold a soft or hard headband in place. This method, however, will cause your hair to stick slightly to the headband (this is how it stays in place), so don't use it if you will be removing the headband later and won't be able to touch up your hair.
