How to Stop Transcoding in Vuze

Vuze is a computer application that downloads and transcodes your files for playback on media devices. Transcoding on Vuze allow you to convert your files so that you can play them on many devices such as the iPhone, Androids, Blackberry, Xbox, PS3, and TiVo. By default, Vuze automatically starts transcoding. However, to stop transcoding there are a few steps that need to be taken.

    Open the Vuze application and on the left side pane select "Device Playback Beta." Locate the desired device.

    Find the transcoded file by looking at the right hand pane. It will show all the files that was converted for playback on your selected device.

    Select the file. Once the file is selected it will be highlighted in blue.

    Move your mouse pointer up to the menu navigation bar. The navigation bar will show icons for up, down, start, stop, and delete.

    Click the "Stop" button. This will stop your file from transcoding.

Tips and warnings

  • If you click the "Delete" button instead of the "Stop" button, it will delete the file and you will need to add it again if you choose to have the file converted for playback on your device.
