Even if you're a total novice when it comes to designing a website or a blog, you can add a free tarot card reading to your website very quickly and easily if you already know --- or can learn --- to cut and paste. Before you begin, however, take a look at a variety of card-reader styles and pick one that goes with your overall site design. Scripts, which are simple lines of code that tell the computer what to do, are available on different Internet sites, and you should never have to pay for a basic script. Once you've found your script, you are ready to add it to your site.
Navigate to a website containing scripts for tarot cards. Two such sites are InstantOracle.com and Tarotsmith.com, but there are others.
Scroll down to the box that contains the tarot card-reading script. Click inside the box and highlight the code by simultaneously pressing the "Command" and "A" keys on your keyboard or go to "Edit" and "Select All" in the browser's menu bar. Copy to your browser's clipboard by pressing the "Command" and "C" keys or by clicking on "Copy" under the "Edit" tab in the browser's menu bar.
Go to your Wordpress administration panel. Check your "Welcome" e-mail if you do not know how to access the administration panel. The address is usually http://www.yourdomainname.com/wp-admin/. Insert your domain name where indicated in the URL.
Click on "Appearance," then "Widgets" on your Wordpress administrator panel. Drag and drop the "Text" widget into the sidebar of choice, or click the "Add" button.
Click the "Command" and "V" keys simultaneously to paste the code into the large widget box under the title line. Use the drop-down menus below the large box to select where you want the tarot card reading to appear. Click the "Save Widget" button. Your tarot card reading is now accessible on all of the pages with sidebars.
Create a new "Page" if you do not want your tarot card reading to appear in the sidebar. From the administrator panel in Wordpress, click the "Page" link in the left sidebar.
Click the "Add New" button at the top of the screen. Click on the "HTML" tab on the large white text box in the middle of the screen. Paste your code into it by holding down the "Command" and "V" keys or click the "Edit" tab in the browser menu bar and then click "Paste." Click on the "Visual" tab to see what the page looks like.
Save your page by clicking on the "Save Draft" button in the right-hand sidebar. Click "Publish" if you want your tarot reading to go live on the web.
Navigate to your Blogger blog desktop. Select "Design" from the list under the blog on which you want to place the tarot card reading.
Select the area where you want the tarot reading to appear. Click on the "Add a Gadget" for that section. A pop-up screen will open. Turn off any pop-up blockers if the pop-up does not appear.
Scroll down the "Basics" page to the "HTML/Java Script" gadget. Click the "+" sign.
Paste your tarot card-reading script into the "Content" box by holding down the "Command" and "V" keys or by clicking on "Edit" and "Paste" in the browser's menu bar. Click "Save."
Preview your new addition by clicking the "Preview" button on your main Blogger blog desktop.
Open your website editor software. If you do not have any, download KompoZer (See References). Open the file and install it on your computer.
Open your saved website by clicking on the "Open" icon in the menu bar or by clicking on "File" and then "Open File."
Click the location where you want the tarot card reader located inside the work area of your document. In the KompoZer menu bar, click on "Insert" and then on "HTML." A pop-up screen will appear.
Paste your tarot card-reader code into the pop-up html script box. Click "Save." Publish your work to the web by clicking on the "Publish" button when you are ready.
