How to Disable AccuWeather on a Desktop

AccuWeather offers a wide range of apps, plugins, programs and widgets to keep you up to date with the latest in weather news regardless of where you are. These tech solutions are available on most smartphones as well as home systems. The AccuWeather Desktop program is customisable to give you pop-up and audio alerts whenever important weather events occur in your selected areas of interest. You can choose to disable AccuWeather on a desktop by disabling the alerts or uninstalling the program completely.

    Disable Alerts

    Hover your mouse over the AccuWeather icon in the system tray next to the clock in the lower right corner of your desktop.

    Right-click to open the context menu.

    Click on the option to "Disable Sound."

    Repeat the process and select "Disable Popups."

    Remove AccuWeather Completely

    Right-click on the AccuWeather Desktop icon in the system tray.

    Click "Exit."

    Click "OK" to confirm the decision to exit the program.

    Open the "Start" menu and click "Control Panel."
