How to Make a Ke$ha Costume

Ke$ha is an American pop singer known all around the world for her dance music. Like many pop singers, Ke$ha has a unique look that can easily be duplicated at home. Taking notes from the early 1980s, Ke$ha dresses in off-the-shoulder T-shirts, ripped tights and boots, and covers her body in glitter and various accessories. Most of these clothing items can be found at home in your closet or at your local thrift shop.

  1. 1

Cut the neckline of a vintage T-shirt at an angle to create Ke$ha's signature over-the-shoulder look. Cut random slashes all over the T-shirt.

  2. 2

Rip holes into a pair of black fishnet or lace tights. Kesha often wears tights with funky patterns.

  3. 3

Layer a miniskirt or denim shorts over the tights. Cut the legs off an old pair of jeans to create your own denim shorts, or purchase a pair of denim cut-offs. Cut holes and slashes into the shorts.

  4. 4

Wear a pair of black combat or ankle boots on your feet.

  5. 5

Wear a long blonde wig, or style your own hair in KeSha's style if your hair is already long and blonde. Apply pomade to the wig or your own hair to make it look greasy. Part your hair to the side, and ruffle your hair with your fingers to give it the appearance of having just rolled out of bed.

  6. 6

Line your eyes with a generous amount of black eyeliner, and cover your lashes in black mascara. Apply a glittery silver eye shadow to your eyelids. Create a Ke$ha design under one eye with silver glitter by making it look like the silver is dripping down from your eye. Paint your lips with pink lip gloss. Cover your arms, neck and any other exposed skin with body glitter.

  7. 7

Accessorise with plenty of multicoloured bracelets and necklaces. There is no such thing as too much jewellery for a Ke$ha costume. Wear a pair of feather earrings and a fake silver nose ring.
