Click the arrow button on the right-hand side of the taskbar to open the system tray.
Hover the mouse pointer over each icon in the system tray to see the application names. Right-click the application labelled "Asus Eee PC Tray Utility." Confirm the "Disable WLAN" option is unchecked.
Click "Start," click "Control Panel" and then click "Switch to Classic View" if the option is available in the left pane.
