The Asus Eee PC comes with a wireless network adaptor that allows the netbook to connect to a wireless local area network. A WLAN enables multiple computers in a limited area to connect to wireless Internet. To find wireless Internet connections on an Asus Eee PC, confirm that the WLAN adaptor is enabled, and then view the available wireless networks that Windows XP has detected.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Click the arrow button on the right-hand side of the taskbar to open the system tray.

  2. 2

Hover the mouse pointer over each icon in the system tray to see the application names. Right-click the application labelled "Asus Eee PC Tray Utility." Confirm the "Disable WLAN" option is unchecked.

  3. 3

Click "Start," click "Control Panel" and then click "Switch to Classic View" if the option is available in the left pane.

  4. 4

Double-click "Network Connections." Right-click the "Wireless Network Connections" icon, then click "View Available Wireless Networks" to see the available wireless access points.
