How to Do a Screenshot on a Dell Keyboard

Press a specific key combination on your Dell keyboard to capture a screen shot of the image on your computer screen. Unlike some computer manufacturers, Dell keyboards for both Dell laptop and desktop computers do not require that you hold down the "Function" key in addition to the "Alt" and "Print Screen" keys. Using fewer keys lets you take a screen shot more quickly, increasing the chance that you will capture the image you want.

    Arrange the various applications or file folders that you want to appear in the screen shot.

    Press the "Prnt Scrn" button on the keyboard. Typically, this button is located in the upper-right corner of the standard Dell keyboard.

    Open a word processing program such as Microsoft Word and create a new document. Right-click an open area within the document and then click "Paste" to paste the screen shot into the document.
