The look on someone's face when you give them a surprise gift is something to be treasured. You can make the moment extra special by presenting the gift in a box that gives no clue as to what's inside. You can turn the opening of the parcel into a gift in itself by decorating a surprise box with unexpected colours, designs and words, and adding intriguing extra layers.
- Skill level:
Things you need
- One empty cardboard grocery or hardware box
- Three smaller plain-coloured gift boxes of decreasing size (the smallest must be large enough to contain the gift)
- Craft paint
- Glitter glue
- Gift wrapping paper
- Sticky tape
- Coloured marker pens
Paint the inside of the cardboard grocery or hardware box with bright colours and decorate with glitter glue. Leave the outside plain, so there is no hint that it is anything out of the ordinary.
Decorate the three gift boxes with the coloured marker pens. On the largest of the three write, "Surprise". Write, "What could it be?" on the middle-sized box. Decorate the smallest box with question marks. Add glitter glue to the boxes for extra sparkle.
Place the gift inside the smallest box and wrap with gift wrapping paper. Secure with sticky tape. Place the wrapped small box in the middle box and wrap that up. Place the middle box in the largest white box and wrap that up, too
Place the parcel of wrapped boxes in the large empty cardboard box and seal it with sticky tape ensuring none of the brightly coloured boxes inside can be seen.
Place the surprise box somewhere easy to spot and wait for the recipient to enjoy her surprise.
