Putting an image on a DVD cover is done easily through printing onto a sticker template. DVD label cover templates can be purchased at any office supply store inexpensively. Design template software is used to help the user design the cover so that it prints onto the sticker paper correctly. The templates are often designed to work with MS Word or other word processing software. Some companies, like Avery, offer their design software for free.

Purchase sticker paper for DVD covers. There are a number of companies that make these products. They are fairly inexpensive and come in a variety of quantities (i.e. 10, 20, 50 sheets).
Look on the template DVD cover sticker paper's package for information regarding designing DVD covers. Almost all manufacturers will indicate how to do this. They will instruct the user to use their software or let the user know that standard DVD templates from MS Word are compatible with their templates. The product will have a unique product number that may correspond to a template. For example, if the product number were T542, the template for that product would also be T542.
Download the appropriate template. Follow the manufacturer's instructions and download its template software or template.
Open the appropriate template. Design the template DVD cover. Include images, text or whatever you want.
Insert the sticker paper into the printer tray.
Print the template. The designed template should perfectly fit onto the DVD's sticker paper.
Peel off the sticker paper and carefully affix it to the top of the DVD.
