Any iPad owner that wishes to add, remove or edit the iPad's photo albums must do so on the computer they sync it with rather than directly on the device itself. This is true even if the iPad owner only wants to change the name of the photo albums stored on the device. Changing the name of an iPad photo album is as easy as changing the name of a folder on the computer, and can be done in a few simple steps.

Instructions

  1. 1

Locate the main photo folder that you have synced with the iPad device on the computer's hard drive. The name and location of this folder will vary between users. Once you have located the main folder, double-click on the folder to view the photo album folders stored inside.

  2. 2

Click on one of the photo album folders to highlight it. Click the name of the photo album folder to place the mouse cursor in the folder's name edit box. Press the "Delete" key to delete the current folder's title.

  3. 3

Enter a new name for the photo album folder in the space provided. When you are finished, press the "Enter" key to save the changes.

  4. 4

Repeat Steps 2 and 3 for any other photo album folders that you want to rename.

  5. 5

Connect the iPad to the computer via the USB connection cable that came with the device and double-click the iTunes application icon to launch the application.

  6. 6

Click on the iPad device beneath the "Devices" heading in the iTunes application window. Click the "Sync" button to sync the new photo album names with the device. After the syncing process is finished, the albums will appear on the iPad with their new names.
